2020 Ford Escape Review
Ford has done it again. Ford has taken its flagship midsize SUV, the Ford Escape, and redesigned it from the ground up. Welcome to the debut of the 2020 Ford Escape. The 2020 Ford Escape is a full redesign that is designed to give Ford customers what they have been asking for in a midsize SUV.
If you have ever ridden in any SUVs in this class, you know that room in the second row is limited. If you are an adult in the second row, or if you are trying to put a rear facing car seat in the back, you know the struggle is real. To fix this problem, Ford has upgraded the rear seats to be adjustable. Now you can slide the rear seat back to provide a huge, best in class, 40.7 inches of personal space. The 2019 Chevy Suburban only has 39.7 inches. The great part is that when you are not transporting people you can slide the seat forward to increase cargo capacity.
Now that you know that you can fit everybody inside comfortably, let’s talk about the outside. The 2020 Ford Escape has a new sleek, head turning design. Ford rounded off the rear of the Escape giving it the forward motion design similar to the rest of the Ford line up. If you really want your Ford Escape to stand out you can add the SE Sports Premium Package. That will get you 19-inch Machined-face aluminum wheels with Ebony-painted pockets, black roof-rack rails, ActiveX seating material and a panoramic Vista Roof.
Now let’s talk about what is under the hood. The 2020 Ford Escape comes standard with the redesigned, 1.5L ecoboost engine in the S, SE and SEL and it is paired with the new 8 speed automatic transmission. The big news is the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The Ford Escape Hybrid is powered by the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I4 engine. The Hybrid Escape will also offer a plugin version for those looking for even greater fuel economy. For the first time you will be able to tow with the Hybrid Escape, up to 1500 pounds. At this point, Ford has not released the MPG rating for the 2020 Ford Escape.
When it comes to technology, Ford did not hold back. The 2020 Ford Escape would make James Bond jealous. Ford has made the Ford Co-Pilot360 standard on the 2020 Ford Escape. That includes BLIS® with Cross Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane-Keeping System and Rear View Camera. You can also add Sync 3, FordPass Connect and you can now operate WAZE through the touch screen interface.
The 2020 Ford Escape is not out yet but should be on the ground before Thanksgiving 2019. If you are interested in more information you can contact us online or give us a call at 989-224-6711.
