Ford Bronco

We are living in the age of great returns and remakes. In the last few years we have seen remakes of popular movies like GhostBusters, Aladdin and the Lion King, to name a few. We have seen some of our favorite foods comes back like Surge, Ecto Cooler and Crystal Clear Pepsi. The automotive industry has not been without its comebacks. We have seen the return of the Ford Ranger, the Jeep Gladiator and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. However, one of the most exciting comebacks in the automotive industry is the return of the Ford Bronco.

Ford announced the return of the Ford Bronco a little over a year ago and after that they have kept very quiet. The only time they release any information is when the excitement online starts to decline. We do know a few things about the return of the Bronco. We know that Ford is introducing the Bronco to compete in a class of vehicle that they have nothing in. The Bronco is designed to attract the same people that would be looking for a Jeep Wrangler or Toyota 4Runner. They want to see more Ford logos at the dunes and off-road trails.

To compete with vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler, Ford had to produce something different than any other SUV they build. The Ford Bronco will a body-on-frame design. It does sound like the Bronco will share a frame with the Ford Ranger. We do also know that Ford is going to offer a smaller two door version to compete with the two door Jeep Wrangler.

Like I have said we have been given very few details on the features that the Ford Bronco will offer. Ford has released that the Bronco will have a solid front and rear axle. Only the Ford F-150 and the rest of the F-series trucks offer this now. A solid front and rear axle makes vehicle modification easier. We also know that the Ford Bronco will offer an “Air Roof” which means that the roof and door will be able to be removed easily. This is a signature trademark of the Jeep Wrangler and an advantage over the Toyota 4 Runner. We also know that Ford Bronco will be built in Ford’s Wayne, Michigan plant.

The big question is “When will the Ford Bronco come out?” No release date has been set for the Bronco. Rumors are that we could see it as soon as the spring of the 2020 model year. Ford has said that the price of the Ford Bronco will be in the same range as the Jeep Wrangler. Whenever something great goes away and its return is announced, people fill with excitement and fear. Our fears are that the new version will not meet up with what we have known in the past. Ford has promised us that the new Ford Bronco will not disappoint us and will let us take the Ford brand to places it has not been in a long time. So don’t be surprised when Silver Lake Dunes opens in the spring and you see a Ford Bronco fly past you.
